Troy holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and he is a licensed real estate broker in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Troy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
